Hello All. To begin I have really bad anxiety and as a 25 y/o male, I have suffered with it my entire life but have recently ran into some symptoms that have led me to this community hoping for answers before I see a doctor/specialist.

2 weeks ago I started experiencing some throat discomfort, particularly on my right side. It didnt hurt or anything but felt really weird as if something was in my throat. I never had trouble swallowing anything, just if I had dry foods like egg yoke or corn tortilla cheap that if would move down my pipe slower than normal. i've tried to cough up mucus to relive the feeling that was bothering me, and it seems to temporarily relive the discomfort /weird feelings when spitting up saliva. I've also been been experiencing some Acid Reflux/GERD that comes and goes

Fast forward to today, the symptom is still present even though its kind of been a seesaw action, where i'd have temporary feelings of relief especially when my mind isnt fixated on it. The feeling is not painful and feels more normal when eating foods, but it is still noticeable , especially about a couple cm's from the top of the right collarbone. Other than that I have no other Bulbar symptoms (speech is clear, can move my tongue in all directions , whistle, etc.), just a bit of a "sick" feeling during various parts of the day.

I know that no one here is a doctor and cannot diagnose me via the internet, but in your experiences reading posts in the thread, does this sound like the onset of Bulbar ALS? I'm very nervous about this and not sure what else to do.

Thank you.

Hi there-

Please make sure to read here: Read Before Posting as it answers most questions pretty thoroughly. Reflux/GERD, weird feelings, intermittent symptoms, feeling unwell, etc have absolutely nothing to do with MND.

The first thing people need to do if they have health concerns is to visit with their doctor. Have you done so? Please start there before assuming a terminal disease! I am sure your doctor will be able to provide you more feedback after a physical exam about what they observe than anything people here can do for you with what you have posted.

Take care

Hello, thanks for reply. No I haven’t seen a doctor , I will see one soon.

Edit: Typo, I meant to say the feeling is less noticeable when eating foods.

We are not doctors, nor do we diagnose that is completely correct.
You don't say what your doctor has even said about what is happening?
If you think you are dying, just 2 weeks after some very vague symptoms, you better get to a doctor fast and explain all your concerns and get this sorted.
No one here with ALS has experience what you have described.
All the very best, please think carefully about asking the terminally ill to help you.
