Hi, I am a 48 year old male. About 3 months ago I noticed a weakness in my right arm, hand and fingers. Brushing my teeth, shaving, buttoning my shirts, zipping my pants, all became difficult to do. I feel unbalanced, I have lost my balance and fallen a few times. Swallowing food is not a problem, but I get strangled on liquids and have a terrible coughing spell. I have mild tremors and twitching all over my body, especially my upper body. I have no pain, just a little back pain, associated with my awkward walk because my legs feel a little weak. I have heart palpitations. My heart "flutters" a lot. My wife says my speech has become "different", heavy, slow and slurred. I sometimes find myself trying to do ordinary task with my left hand and arm because my right side just doesn't cooperate. I went to the Doctor. All lab work and vitals were normal, MRI showed no stroke or tumors. I haven't mentioned ALS to my Doctor. If you are experienced with ALS respond, please...Thank you

I'm not experienced with ALS...but I would recommend you talk to your Dr about these symptoms. So much so fast sounds like a possible autoimmune issue or a stroke.

Have they done an EMG? Your symptoms could be a lot of things but a neurologist should do an EMG to check for muscle abnormalities.

Please go back to you doctor and discuss a referral to a neurologist.

Sounds like possible ALS. Everyone is right talk to your doctor about seeing a neurologist and getting an EMG. My mother was having the same issues but has progressed.
