Hi, my name is Lauren. I'm 23.

Since late May, I've been having some problems. It started with my right leg having a tickle, like a pinched nerve feeling. On June 4, I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. Ever since then I had been having tingling all through my body. My legs don't feel like my legs anymore when I rub or squeeze them. My shoulder and neck have been on and off tense, too.

My blood test came back with a low positive ANA, and since this weekend I've been having twitches, loss of balance, and my taste and smell are completely off.

What do you think?

I get a nerve conductive test on July 3rd.

Thank you.

I think that you should patiently go through the testing process, that has already begun and leave it all in the hands of your well trained doctors.
It sounds not a thing like ALS. So this site is not the place for you. Try to control your need to use your co mputer se arch function. It's very bad for anxiety.

I wish you well

What makes you think it isn't ALS? I've also had trouble swallowing, too. I've lost a lot of weight. I don't know if it is due to stress or what.

The tingling has subsided (except sometimes through the buttocks) and now my legs feel like jelly and weak.

It sounds like autoimmune disease. but not ALS. You need further blood test and referral to a specialist

good luck

Pat

You really should take Alyoop's advice. She is a neuro nurse. And listening to Doc tor Go og le is NOT a good thing to be spending your time on. You live in the Sunshine State. Enjoy it, live it, love it.

Wait for July 3, and write your questions down to ask the doc tor. You are paying him big bucks for his many years of education and training.

Good luck,

Toto

I'm a hypochondriac and I have pulled out so much of my hair over this. But I am really really worried.

My GP doctor wants to see me tomorrow.

Did they rule out lyme Disease? It can absolutely cause bell's palsy and a host of other strange symptoms
hope you feel better soon

What makes you think that it IS ALS.?......that's the question you need to ask yourself.

Tickling all over.........nope
Now you add you have swallowing problems and lost weight and suffer from hypochondria!

We have several post like this every week.
We are given a bunch of symptoms..............then they are slowly added to.........toss in hypochondria and anxiety......
Disbelieve the well trained doctors...............yawn.

As I said, leave it to your doctor to decide what's going on.......your anxiety will drive you nuts ( and probably many people on this forum)

It's been a progression of symptoms unfortunately. At first it was the noticeable Bell's Palsy, then strong arm and leg tingling and now my legs don't feel right when I touch them. I've lost about fifteen lbs in two weeks. I don't have much desire to eat, really. Went out yesterday and my smell was way off (cigarette smoke in particular), have chronic dry gross mouth taste and hard to swallow.

Desire to eat and Inability to eat are not the same thing. Please take the advice given and ask about anxiety meds. And it takes a while to get them tweaked, so give them time.

If I were twenty-three again and lived in Florida I'd be strutting my stuff in a yellow-polka dot bikini not trying to diagnosing my self on here.

"What do you think?" "I'm a hypochondriac and I have pulled out so much of my hair over this".

That about covers it I'd say but I'm not a doctor!

"My GP doctor wants to see me tomorrow."

I seriously doubt that!

Please read what these good people have taken their time to write to you, again, and pay attention this time!

I really don't mean anyone disrespect, it has put my mind a little more to rest for the moment. But my symptoms have driven me over the edge this past month, going from one thing to the next and it is so exhausting to figure out. I've tried to put my worry aside, but it all comes back to what my body is doing. My family and friends are really worried about me and the state I've put myself into. I did call my doctor and she does want to see me. I've driven her crazy I'm sure, seeing her at least five times this month when something new crops up.

I just want to keep people posted. I really, really don't mean any disrespect.

Oh, Sadie.

I had just had this conversation. A few of late pop up. Let it not be so!
