Irma- we didn't scare you away, did we? I hope not! :-D If you are on line today please know that you are in our thoughts! Cindy

Hi, Cindy! Whadda ya mean scare me away? For what reason? I am in the "land if the lost!" My son whisked me away Friday morning after Thanksgiving! I divorced my hubby for a day or so! LOL! My husband cannot get around, so he could not go with us. He stayed home. We left our 16 yr old grandson to watch over him. My son took me to New Orleans, just anything to get away from all these thoughts. We stayed there overnight, did a casino or 2. After we left New Orleans we went to San Antonio, Tx. My son he is in the sound equipment business. He has a store here in Houston, and went to SA to open up another one there. I accompanied him, because he asked me to.. One of his boys brought me back home because I got tired of being away from home. I am so far behind with these posts, I probably have to stay up a whole week in order to catch up! Hope everyone is doing okay. God bless you guys!

Hi Irma. Glad you got away for a while. It sure helps sometimes.
AL.

Yes, it does, Al! You know what's so funny? My son told me, "Mom, I know you love to gamble! I know, and Dad knows your mind is wandering, how about going to a Casino?" I agreed, and we had a blast! The only sad part about it, I didn't win a darn thing! LOL! God bless you guys! I'm back but busy. Gotta send off Xmas cards. Take care!

This poem is one of my favourites:

Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,

I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

~Mary Frye

Thank you so much Mike, for sharing that beautiful poem with us!

My husband, Ray, passed away on 7/21 after a very courageous battle with ALS. I found this poem on the internet that night....it says it all.

MY LOST LOVE

I have only just lost you, the pain is hard to bear
Do I have to go through life knowing you’re not there?
Please someone explain to me why he had to go
Are there any reasons, I really need to know.
I sit here and remember all the lovely times we shared
The talks, the laughter of everyone who cared
I am told the pain will ease in time
And will think of him without a tear
But that will be impossible as I need to have him here.
He was the very world to me, my ever guiding star
Just kiss me softly on the cheek and tell me where you are.
