ALS and PLS do not improve with exercise or for anything else.

Hopefully bro is right as he is there daily. I hope so for you all.

Thanks Tillie.

Week on week he's making some progress in strength, balance and range of motion. Left shoulder not so much since atrophied some.

This past weekend bro's report with link to pics in next post.

"There's 1 exercise he was able to do for the first time since his big fall back in feb. He didn't feel weak for that fall. Too much weight on 1 side of the stool and it came out from under him.

Left arm is stretching out better.*

Rock solid balance! Did not wobble at all!

Able to do this stretch exercise for the first time since falling!

He's able to do this rowing exercise a lot better than before!

His left hand can grip this handle better than before!

And he did 30 pound weight! He was barely able to do 10 pounds before!

And the first time he could lock both hands behind his back! It was difficult, but he did it!"

Hopefully this works. Attached some pics.

You do realise our members can't do even one thing in those photos?

I truly hope all goes well for your dad. I don't think we can do anything further. You aren't there and neither are we. Let us know if a doctor tells you all anything different.

I guess my concern is hearing some people here say they or someone they know improved their functioning muscles to compensate so it looks like improvement when it really isn't or much.

You're right tillie, I'm not there which makes it harder since you can't see how or if he's compensated in pics. His neurologist who has great reviews and credentials should never have said very slow pls to him and my bro. He should have just said what it's not and say he really should get the diagnosis from nmd dr.

Thank you for your time and thoughts.

To PALS, we say live your life until you can't. I think the same applies to you...your bro is on the spot and should be aware if any significant change occurs. Meanwhile, your dad I am sure wants you to live your best life as well, without worrying about "what it is" if he is not.

Best,
Laurie

He's worried. It's part of his nature. I'm not there. I'm not sure if it's better or worse as I suffer from anxiety and depression. Pills help some. Anyway, thanks. I shall try.
