Please Help!

This is a wonderful forum full of caring folks that are willing to help each other out with ideas how to cope with this horrible disease, ALS. When one of our loved ones pass on we lean on each other for support. What I would like to know is this: I have noticed that we have been having sickos creeping into our wonderful forum, how in the world can we keep them out? This is sick! This is about our loved ones being sick, or have passed, and we are helping each other out.

To all the "baddies" out there, please have some respect. There is no room for you people on this forum. Please leave! Enough is enough!

Exactly, liz, and I am mad as hell. I know this does not sound like me, but I feel like they are disrespecting these folks (PALS), and our loved ones that have passed! Who can we turn to for HELP?

When in doubt, if you see no replies on the right side of the page and only a few views , Don't open it. We try to catch these yahoo's as soon as possible but sometimes there may be a few postings left up a few hours before we see them and delete them. A good indicator is the name under the thread. It is the name of the person starting the thread. If it looks strange or foreign,don't open it. There isn't really any way with the software we use to stop these guys. Hope this helps.

It's probably some foreign child pornagrapher, located in a 3rd world country.

The sad fact, is there is really no way to stop this.

I had suggested, that if the site would assign a password upon registration, which the password is emailed to a legitimate email account, this MAY...and that's a big MAY..stop these evil wizards....at the least, AL / Cindy would have their email account, then, i could have my wonderful IT manager concoct some kinda really computer crashing virus you could email to them.


Just remember, GOD don't sleep.

Actually a lot of them seem to originate in Eastern Russia when I check the odd ip address. They do have to give an email address but the ones I've sent messages don't bother to reply.

Like Al says the spam is eay to recognize. Aside from Al's tips, they are first-time posters, they have silly names and titles on the thread and if you put your cursor over the post without opening it, you can read the first few lines as a pop-up and confirm that it's spam.

I just deleted my second "Paris Hilton Porn" thread. And I see Al deleted one also. The same guy keeps re-registering as a new member with new email. David and Al bann them and they come back, morphed into another user. That, and being told we are not "loving" enough by someone who refuses to face facts is just frosting my cake today. I am exausted, cranky, and dealing with a sick Mom in her final stages of Alzheimers. I'm just about out of loving kindness for the jerks of this world.

If you get their IP address you can track back to their ISP and file an abuse complaint.

And what do they get out of this anyway? Is there some way they hope to make money?
