Hi everyone,

I’m Sowndharya. I’m very much worried about My super smart kid than My symptoms. Because if im No more, no one will take care of My 3 yr kid like I do 🙁. Thats why im seeking your help.

Very fisrt symptom started 8 months back : if i sit my both legs goes numb especially right side foot.

Following Symptoms started on this march :

I noticed some unusual symptom on my right foot suddenly i saw actually it was twitching along with some sensation (i dont know how to describe the sensation, somewhere between pins-needels and numbness). Later i started twitching everywhere entire body - it is not similar to what i got in my foot, its usually a single muscle twitch rarely 1-10 times. I get random twitches every 5-10 mins. I was getting unusual sensation and severe twitching at my both feet whenever i sit, but right side is more severe. Now im getting it often along with some unusual sensation.

Also 24/7 I’m having weird sensation in my right leg , severity goes from foot to hip

I searched this symptom and got to know about the word ALS, freaked out. Even i cried when i saw the als patient’s video, im just asking the god, why us ?

Emg result : March month - normal

Emg result : Last week

1. spontaneous activity (I don’t have much symptom on my left, but I got spontaneous activity on my left tibialis posterior, actually I have weird symptom on my right)
2. QMap is Incomplete at right abductor hallucis (yes I have symptoms in this region - right foot)

I got something in google about emg, we can suspect that if it is als, emg result may have fibrillation and positive sharp wave.

When I checked the emg graph of spontaneous activity (left tibialis posterior), I saw a single positive sharp wave in the graph, just compared it with positive sharp wave from google images, they are continuous in nature but mine is appeared only once. I have attached the result please help me whether it is a positive sharp wave or not ?

Just started the diagnosis process. If it is als, I will accept it, but I need to find it as early as possible for my kid.

Kindly read my symptoms and help me to figure out. Thanks in advance.

1 ALS is not a sensory disease. Meaning sensations as symptoms point away from ALS
2 it doesn’t sound like you are describing an ALS EMG at all. There is a lot more to it than isolated findings. It is a disease of acute and chronic denervation in a widespread area. Not a single finding one place and another in a totally different limb. It has multiple abnormalities in a specific pattern in multiple muscles spreading out from the start
3 maybe it is a psw. As noted above a single psw doesn’t signify anything even a row of them wouldn’t without anything else

Thanks for your reply. Basic blood tests done nothing is there. Doctor started next step to rule out neuro myotonia and heavy metal poisoning, next week I have check up to see these results.

I have some intense twitching in right hand palm also. I have symptoms in right leg which i mentioned in the very first message. As i said im in diagnosis process. I have Only one question to ask, can it be affect both right arm and right leg at a time (having unusual symptoms in right leg and right arm) ?

Not as you describe, no. A weird sensation on one side that involves your hip sounds more like a positioning issue when lying or sitting down -- always good to check your mattress, seat cushions, etc. Also bear in mind that twitching can come and go for no reason at all.

Thank you sir/ma’am

I consulted another neurologist again because of the following worrisome symptoms.

1. When I sit for about 5 minutes, both of my legs go numb. This sensation disappears when I walk. I’ve also noticed my foot arch twitching, which starts with numbness and ends with twitching.
2. I’ve developed body-wide twitching, but not similar to the twitching in my foot, it is like muscle jump.
3. My right leg has become problematic, with a persistent vibration sensation and sometimes a feeling of not having the leg.
4. I’ve started experiencing eye issues and sensations like someone is pulling my back head and lower jaw and chin discomfort.
5. I have a constant weird sensation in my lower spine.
6. Nowadays, if I keep my hand in the same position for just 2 minutes, it goes numb.

He asked me to show the hand, he said are you able to see the atrophy in left hand. I’m sharing my pictures. But I’m having major symptoms in right side, but he said it is atrophy. He prescribed antioxidant. Asked me to check the muscle bulk every one month. I asked him about als also what is the diagnosis then. He said we can’t say anything now, it will take years to watch for the symptoms to say the accurate diagnosis.

I’m deeply concerned about my health and my ability to care for my child.

Pictures not allowed

We do ALS here. You are still not describing it. We don’t know what is wrong with you. As I told you before sensory symptoms point away from als

1 sensory
2 twitching without clinical weakness is not worrisome
3 sensory
4 ditto
5 ditto
6 ditto

You are going to have to work with your doctors Your answer is not here Closing thread. Do not start another
