I am a 17 yr old female and my symptoms started back in Decmeber 2020 when i was 16 years old.
It started when one night i randomlly started getting intense twitches all over my body. Evrey time i would lie on my sides i could feel them pumping intensely. This scared me but i brushed it of and thought it would eventually go away. They did not stop. The twitches continued, i had a blood test done and evreything came back normal. The doctor reassured me that it was nothing to be worried about and after lockdown lifted and schools opened back up my body would return to normal.
However as time progressed my twitching continued and i have been getting new symptoms. Such as feeling like ants are crawling on my body , feeling my face vibrating, my muscles have been involuntarly moving, sometimes a certain area will go stiff or i will get wierd tingly sensations. I have no muscle weakness but i am scared that this could be ALS, i dont know what to do and havent been able to get an appointment for months. It has been nearly 8 months and not a single day has gone by where i havent twitched. Some days it is worser than others and all these new symptoms are scaring me. Also after exercising or walking back from school when i sit down i feel like thousands of insects are crawling evreywhere on my skin. Its like my nerves are running around. When i press my fingers together i can see them pumping and moving. This is all so strange and i do not know what to do. I keep being told that it is anxiety but i am not anxious. Please help
All help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Twitches are common and without weakness nothing to worry about. All the other things you talk about are sensations - feelings- ALS is a motor neuron disease so sensory ( feeling) symptoms are not part of it.

please read this Important - READ BEFORE POSTING! Answers to common concerns about possible symptoms and talk to someone about your worries- parent, clergy, school if you can access them. and sign off from here. It is very bad and scary for you here

Really great news -- what you feel has nothing to do with ALS.

Nikki is right -- walk away from the screen and get help for your worries. Tell every kind adult you know, till someone responds with action, that you don't want to feel this way and need help to not do that. Also, the more you tell it and don't keep it inside, the less power it will have.

Best,
Laurie

Thank you both for your help and reassurance.
I just wanted to say i managed to get a doctors appointment and my doctor has scheduled for me to get a blood test to get my magnesium levels checked out.
If they find nothing they will have to refer me to a specialist who will do the neccesary tests/scans. My heart tells me i dont have ALS but my brain keeps thinking of worst case scenarios which are making me constantly live in fear. Furthermore my docotor was very confused about my symptoms which scared me.
In the meantime i will patiently wait to recieve a diagnosis.
Thank you for taking your time to read this.
