Are there any special assistive devices for personal hygiene after a BM?

Mrs C, a bidet works wonders! They vary in price, depending on your preference.

Sorry, I don't have many words of advice tonight.

I think the info is on the gadget thread.

definitely a bidet. They make models that even dry. Check on Amazon for some of the various models. Most are pretty simple to install, I believe. They can tap into the lines for a bathroom sink, even, if necessary.

You can spend from $50 to $1000+ on a bidet.

I have been using my $75 non-electrical for a couple of years and it has worked great.

Also search bidet on ebay.

a bidet only works if you can sit directly on the toilet seat.

My Toto Washlet (Jasmine) works while I'm hoisted above rather than seated on it. I've got several inches of clearance. Phil now knows how to make quick changes with the sprayers. We do this rather than lower me due to having too many hits on my tailbone. The bidet sensor amazes me. Hanging without trying to sit upright is very helpful, as well.

If you don't use a bidet, try the moist towelettes sold in the toilet paper aisle.
