I now have one for when I need it later. Although I was my surgeon's first ALS patient, the technique is the same.. Everything went perfectly. Can't ask for more than that. My complaint is the throat spray
. It suddenly felt as if I had swallowed 
drain cleaner - or like I would expect it to be. Took a week to stop hurting 
. I still have difficulty 
speaking. Needed it due to insertion of tube. Has anyone else had that experience?
Through the nurse tried very hard, failure to insert IV line in right hand vein left it very bruised and still sore. Should be better in a couple more weeks. It's not the first time. It's possible "maturer" people are more pain sensitive.? Oh, well. "This too shall pass."!! B
