Over the past year I have just been generally exhausted for no reason. I actually ended up retiring after 40 years because I just can't push myself to work anymore. Along with that, I have been having leg cramps, muscle spasms and general weakness in my legs for the past almost year. Sometimes my legs actually lock up and I can't get them to bend. My PCP put me on medicine for restless leg syndrome. It didn't help. Now in the past couple weeks, I started just falling down for no reason. It's like I have no control of my legs. I get back up and stagger around like I'm drunk, but then straighten out. I've also started tripping up steps because my toe catches the edge because for some reason I am not lifting my foot high enough. There are times I have to sit in the car seat and pickup my leg with my hands and put my feet in the car because i cant lift them. My legs used to only hurt at night in bed, but now they hurt all day and night. Otherwise other than some brain fog I am normal.
The PCP is at a loss and is sending me to a neurologist to begin the testing process for ALS. Is there anyone else here that started out like this? Needless to say I am concerned.
