I have been getting paralyzed from the waist down on and off for about two weeks. This morning around 9 i did again but it hasnt went away. Its been over 6 hours and i have not got any feeling back. Has this happened to anyone else? If so how will i know its permanent?

Just to be sure, what do you mean by paralyzed?

Does it move when you want it to?
Is it rigid and can't be moved by your hand?
Is it flaccid and limp, so is easily moved by hand?
If you poke it, do you feel the poke?

Christy- this sounds like a medical emergency. You need to see a doctor. This is not anything to do with ALS.

Totally agree with ShiftKicker. There’s something else serious going on. Most likely either compressing your spinal cord or affecting circulation to the cord.

Christy, best to post such a matter as this on the "People with ALS" sub-Forum rather than this DIHALS (Do I Have ALS) sub-Forum. Can you Email or call your Neuro?

Your Bio says that you have been diagnosed with ALS. This is your first post?

I put Christy's thread in DIHALS. I might be wrong, but I interpret her post and profile as being confused, as many are. I've attempted a couple times to communicate with her Again, I hope I'm not wrong. Mostly, I hope Christy is at the ER getting checked for that "on and off" paralysis.
