Hi All,
Checking in from the West Coast. We finally got some rain and are looking forward to more. it's great to see the fields and valleys in variying shades of green again. Disease seems to be progressing, I'm now fully reliant on my electric wheelchair and having gripping trouble with my left hand. We are in month one of our remodel of the master bed and bath, and closet. With six projected months to go I can't help but stress about having waited too long to make much needed changes.

Checking in from Oregon. House remodel is progressing well. Should be in by end of March.

Checking in from east LA (lower Alabama)

still around. Just don't come in here too often.
Riluzole has definitely slowed my progression and no bad side effects which is great. I am slowly accumulating aides that will help as I do get worse and not overdoing the housework or gardening. Had a couple of near falls since Xmas but haven't gone down.

I am still here and on Wednesday have to see another surgeon about an alternate feeding tube placement as the PEG could not be done as my diaphragm and stomach are pushed up into my chest cavity. Also have an updated pfts and my ALS specialist it's going to repeat emgs and EEG to see what changes I have had over the last year. Have developed clonus in my upper left arm which is a bit of a trouble especially when I relax my arm on the armrest. Still waiting for an answer from the insurance company on a power wheelchair and hoping that they're going to pay for most of it.

Hi All,
I don't come often as I seem to miss Wednesday's, so thought I'd check in early! I so enjoy reading your comments and getting to know you virtually!
I was diagnosed in Nov 2015. At that time, I was using a cane for balance outdoors and occasionally furniture indoors, to get around. Since then, I have progressed to a rollator outdoors, though am now using it indoors as well most of the time, a cane at lesser times. One positive side of using the rollator is that complete strangers continue to be very helpful in opening doors and offering assistance. I think this is great and restores my faith in humanity, while living in such a large and indifferent city as Toronto. On a recent trip to NYC, we rented a wheelchair to get around town 'on foot'. (My travel buddy, Fiona, is a professional walker and enjoyed the touring.) Even when I was twice referred to as Fiona's mother (we are two years apart in age!), I was still thrilled at having these aids to keep me safe. Too many falls, the latter three of which were too hard on the head,:-( woke me up! I hope those who are not comfortable with needing walking aids will modify their outlook before the falls become serious.

PS. Any fall is serious!

Happy Wednesday to everyone! :p:smile:

Hi everyone, I think it is Wednesday. Somewhere between the Cayman Islands and Miami. Heading home to TN tomorrow to put the house on the market. Cruise has been fun but glad to get home. Have a good week.

Good morning everyone, nice sunny day here in Southern Ontario.

Hello all
Very jealous of all those of you with nice weather, England is damp grey and blustery at the moment. Roll on spring please......

Good morning. House modifications continue. Hoping to see it completed soon so we can resume some travels while I'm able--thinking of a cruise followed by some touring in northern European cities we've never visited.

Difficult to believe Feb. is here already ! ! Best wishes to all.

Yeah, it's February and winter. Only got to mid 70's today and it'll drop to mid 50's tonite. Can't wait for spring!

Just kidding ya'll, well not about the temperature, but the whining. Actually it's been a pleasantly mild winter so far.

Wish you all a good week.

Bill

Hi from Daytona Beach. February is my least favorite month......NASCAR floods this little town with hundreds of thousands of visitors. I guess it's OK because they spend money.

Happy February.
