So, this week has not been good for my extremities. I fell Monday night coming out of a restaurant on the step heading to the parking lot. I had my husband's arm since steps and I don't get along any more. (I know...I wasn't using the rollator. My daughter already yelled at my husband and I.) I took the step and the legs wouldn't hold me up. I hollered that I was going down and he went down with me. I fell on my wrist and elbow. So now I have a very sore wrist on the same wrist and hand that already are extremely weak.
Last night while my husband was at work, my son took me to the condo association annual meeting. Used my wheelchair. My son helped me out of the chair in the garage and as I took the half-step threshold into the house, down I went again. My son caught me at the end of the fall, however my ankle and foot bent backward as I fell. No severe pain but I could not put my weight on it. My son carried me to the chair.
Ice for a some time, then went to bed. It is not badly swollen, so today I keep it elevated and do nothing! I have obviously injured something but doesn't appear to be a break.
It just angers me how limited my legs are making me. Two falls in one week!!! I'm grounded to my chair now like a little kid.
Our big retirement trip is next week-I can't be laid up with injuries!!!!!
