It's a gambler's joke.

A man was walking through a rather seedy section of town when an
unshaven, tattered bum walked up to him and asked the man for two dollars.
The man asked, "Will you buy booze?" The bum replied, "No… food.”
Then the man asked, "Will you gamble it away?" The bum said, "No…
again, something to eat.” Then the man asked the street bum,..

"Will you come home with me so my wife can see what happens to a man
who doesn't drink or gamble?"

Husband comes home after a late night Poker Game...
he came home from the bar five hours late last night.
“Where the hell have you been?” screamed my wife.
He said, “I’ve been playing poker with some friends.”
“Playing poker with some friends?” she repeated then said,
“Well, you can pack your bags and go! I’m done with this.”
“So can you,” I said. “This isn’t our house anymore.

"Last year people won more than one billion dollars playing
poker. And casinos made twenty-seven billion just by being
around those people." I'll second that motion.
