Okay....logically I know I'm being crazy but emotionally I am so anxious. I've been having some stiffness in my right hand for a few months now along with the feeling of bugs crawling on my body (formication I believe it's called). I've also been having a pins and needles feeling quite often throughout my whole body, but mostly my right side. I have some pain as well as perceived weakness, but not atrophy and I haven't lost the ability to do anything, although some things are a bit harder to do with my right hand.

I saw a neurologist last week and she did a full neurological exam and said everything was normal except for mild hyperflexia in my right arm (3+). She assured me that I don't have ALS (she thinks the hyperflexia is due to a compression in my spine so she ordered a spinal MRI) and I felt better for about a week, but as those of you that have health anxiety know, now I'm thinking she missed something. I hate that my brain is like this.

You don’t have ALS symptoms, the neurologist told you you don’t have ALS and the only thing on your exam was mild hyperreflexia? Please talk to your pcp and get help for your anxiety. It will ruin your life if you don’t control it. Once this ALS scare passes ( if you are even able to let it go) there will be another disease around the corner for you to fear unless you address the underlying issue. Do you really want to live like that?
