No diagnosis, scheduled for am EMG & NCS next week. I have extreme, increasing weakness in both legs, numbness in left leg ands both feet. I have sporadic painful muscle "contractions" that started in the left leg but has now moved all over my body; but still mostly in my legs and arms, ongoing since last July. some DNA testing states I have an "elevated" risk of ALS

If the testing wasn't formal genetic testing, I'd likely discount it, but you'll know more soon.

Numbness and cramps are not typically features of ALS onset, so the odds are very much in your favor for something more treatable and/or less serious.

Best,
Laurie

I'm wondering what you mean by " extreme, increasing weakness in both legs"? If the weakness is extreme does that mean you are unable to walk at all?
