Night Out

Of course, Johnny, it is common for the CALS to hold the urinal for the PALS and ways to make it easier for her in terms of standing, leaning, or sitting.

That's good to know ... as basic as that is we didn't think of it until I was posting on here

I have had some of the same bathroom issues when going out, as your wife. I use a PWC full time at home, and can transfer to the high toilet. However, I have to schedule Public Paratransit bus to take my PWC when going out. That often does not work. I cannot transfer from my featherweight manual chair to a toilet, because I can no longer "lift myself up". A transfer board did not work with the sling seat. This was a problem if I went with others, and took the manual chair. I could not use a urinal either. (what a nightmare that was.) I just got a small PWC (Pride GO chair) that disassembles easily and can go in a car trunk. I am able to transfer to a lower public toilet with it, using a transfer board if needed, due to the bigger seat and arms moving completely out of the way. I have a black nylon bag to carry the slide board on the back of the chair. No one knows what is in the bag. I also choose clothing that is quick and easy in the bathroom. It took some trial at home to figure that out. The Pride GO chair is usually the brand mobility stores rent out by the day. You might rent one, and go out during the day when stores are not busy, to test it out and see if it helps in the bathroom. That is the sole reason I got one. Just a thought. It does sound like you are making progress. Best of luck.
