New to this, and trying to get my arms around it...

Hi,

My mom was just diagnosed with ALS, and informed me last night. So far she has some left arm spasms, a little difficulty with her left leg, and slightly impaired speech which is only noticeable at night when she is tired.

By the sound of things that I have read, this is a pretty early stage, so for that I am thankful.

I just wanted to introduce myself since I am sure to have many comments and questions as I peruse throughout this site and the rest of the internet.
