My Limits

Listen to the whispers in the wind.
You would be amazed what you might hear.
The soft gentle whispers.

You strain to hear the most silent of words.
Wisdom, thoughts of dreams.
Trying to make sense of what you hear.

The breeze gives a gentle touch.
It caresses you.
It can make you feel safe.

But it can also be painful.
Leaving loneliness in it's wake.
Pain and sorrow.

In my life I try to hold on to the positive.
Knowing devastation could be around the corner.
But that is true for all of us.

I have been searching for a purpose.
I think I have found it.
A path meant to be traveled.

That purpose and path is in my words.
My thoughts, an inner soul that balances life.
To allow for compromise, and change.

Our lives are limited on this earth.
Taking that first step, and reaching out.
Holding of a hand that needs strength.

Giving your personal best.
To understand and allow yourself to feel.
Sometimes that may anger. But that's ok.

Live well and dance in your underpants
Patrick

"Listen to the whispers in the wind.
You would be amazed what you might hear.
The soft gentle whispers, the most silent of words."

That created image is quite beautiful. To those who "see", the wind encourages the trees to speak to us. Quiet listening to the universe can teach us many things. "To those who can hear, let them hear." Thank you for sharing.

thanks, Patrick. among your very best. congrats.

Patrick - Unfamiliar with the rules, with no intention of offending, I'd like to ask: do you permit or welcome responses to your poetry itself? Or prefer it to be a special outward gift of inner thoughts and observations? Your images and wording touches me in a like response. Reflecting on the "mountain" inspired a poem in me. If you welcome it, I'd like to share it with you personally, not with others. In any case, I wanted you to know you made a difference. Thank you. I await your response. May you find something beautiful today to lift your spirits. May blessing abound - Bea.
