So I saw another neurologist today. He did physical exam, EMG, and nerve conduction test and said that I passed them all and don't have ALS. Should I be relieved? Are these tests usually accurate? I asked him several times and he kept saying he was sure. But yet I still have symptoms.

Yes. Huge relief.

what were the circumstances of your initial diagnosis? You presumably had an emg? What were the credentials of the person who diagnosed you? A general neurologist? Who was your second opinion ? Their credentials?

approximately 10percent of initial als diagnoses are overturned when the person is seen by an als specialist so it is not that unusual and why we preach second opinions.

That's great news, Mike!

It's the reason only a neuromuscular neurologist can really determine the diagnosis. General neurologists can do EMGs and my first was from a general neurologist. It looked nothing like the one I got at Mayo.

I'm so happy for you.
