Hi everyone. Please feel free to be honest with me because I am driving myself crazy trying to figure out what is going on with my body. A few months ago I started having what feel like internal vibrations in my legs and then a month ago I started having twitching and spasms in my feet especially the arches and my thighs and upper back. I also have been having fatigued forearms and cramps in my hands and feet. I can’t sleep at night because my hands and feet cramp so bad and my body twitches in random places. I had an emg done last year that did show denerveration but I havent had a new one. I have an appointment with neurology next week but any insight would be greatly appreciated because I’m stressing myself out. Thank you.

Hi there-

It looks like there was a diagnosis and treatment plan based on the report you posted here, which does not indicate ALS/MND. Perhaps you are better to wait and speak with the neurologist with your questions. The provide the clinical exam, have your medical history and can measure changes against previous exams. Hard to wait for sure, but speculation of strangers is definitely inferior to real medical attention by your neuro in a few days.

Take care

Your EMG shows no reason for concern with ALS, but some spine damage that may be treated with PT and/or injections to start with.

You may also want to try therapeutic massage, sauna, hot tub, etc. in consultation with your neurologist or PT.

Yes there was a diagnosis but I had and MRI that ruled that diagnosis out and also that diagnosis would not cause cramping in the hands and feet or muscle twitches so I just wanted to get other peoples opinions.

MRI does not rule out spine damage. It shows whether that damage shows up structurally to rule out a need for surgery, etc.

Important note: when one part of your body twitches or feels off, it is extremely common for those feelings/twitches/cramps to spread elsewhere. That can be psychological, you start favoring/overusing something, and/or nerve root/muscle irritation often moves around.

It is ridiculously easy to make some body part that is fine, feel weird. Try it.

Thank you for the replies. I just feel weird sensations everywhere. My arms feel so heavy whenever I am doing anything and they start to get sore and tired very quickly. The cramps in my hands and feet and muscle twitching in my feet have been the most scary symptoms for me so thank you for your input. I’m open to try anything to figure this out. I feel like all my muscles are weak.
