I plugged the charger in on my Hoyer lift and lights indicated it was charging. Also display indicated 75% capacity left on battery. Tried lifting by using up arrow then tried lowering using down arrow. Nothing moved. Tried Google and Hoyer WEB site. No help. Anyone out there have any advice?

We sometimes had to "jiggle" something -- check cable connections, push up toward center of battery box, etc.

Thanks;

Will do the jiggle.

Thought there might be some sort of safety switch or mechanism that keeps the lift from operating.

Was not here when lift was delivered and did not get instructions.

Got it from loner closet but looks brand new. Still has clear plastic wrapping.

We have the portable Hoyer, and there is a safety switch. It's a round red knob that you would mash in to stop movement. You have to twist to release it.

Ours doesn't work while plugged in / charging. Was this the issue? Does it work now?

They do usually have an emergency switch, it should be obvious and usually red.

Ours would work while plugged in, but some don't.

Please let us know once you solve it :)

Got it to work. Found the bright red button.

The button looks like it should be depressed but it actually turns inwards.
