Can anybody suggest a really good comfortable neck collar/brace. My mum's neck is quite badly affected now. I've seen these headmaster collars on the internet but they look very uncomfortable. She needs something really supportive.

Hi,

There was a thread on home made neck collar from some time ago. I will post the URL of the thread in the next post. You should be able to see it after the post gets approved. Or if you need it urgently, you can search for "neck brace" using the search function.

Unfortunately, I never did find anything sufficient for my father. We resorted to tying his head back with a cloth strap. It would be good for a while, and then I'd have to release it to give his poor head a rest. We tried everything. His head was so heavy, no neck collar or brace would have been satisfactory. Believe me, I don't think there's anything we didn't try. We found our homemade solutions the best. Even the ALS specialists we saw didn't really understand the problem, but were impressed with the strap. Mary Helen

I have a Headmaster neck collar, it works well and does not choke me ,like the foam ones.

Thanks to those who have replied. I did get the neck brace information, unfortunately I don't think it will be strong enough. I will keep searching.
