Buckhorn, I am sorry that I am so late in learning this and offering my love to you. Your post is perfect. A peaceful passing before this disease does it's worst is what I hope for also. It sounds like Dave arranged things with you in mind.

I can only imagine the sense of loss. We all think about it, but I'm sure the reality is many times worse. Even freeing him from a future no one wants does not fill the emptiness in your heart, and in your days and nights.

I am so sorry for your loss.... It is very hard to say something to make you feel better because this is so sad.
I lost my soulmate almost a year ago and I still cry everyday but I know he is not suffering and that is the only thing that helps me .
