I am in limbo right now. I have brisk reflexes and a positive Hoffman sign. I also have muscle atrophy in my right calf and right buttock with muscle weakness. I get fasiculations in my right leg and muscle cramps a few times a week. My emg is abnormal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Sorry you are going through this. " abnormal" emg covers a lot of ground. I am guessing it was not diagnostic of ALS or you would have said so. Do you know the details? Do you have the report?

What did your neurologist say was on the list of differential diagnoses? What is their plan?

The members can give you better advice if we know just a little more. Obviously weakness and atrophy are concerning but have a lot of causes besides ALS. Have you had any tests beyond the emg and clinical exam?
