Shucks! Shucks shucks shucks and shucky darn! - the neurologist that was seeing me at the VA retired! I liked the guy, too bad...

This means that I now have to drive 2 hours (give or take) to the VA hospital in Arkansas instead of the 30 minute drive to the closer clinic. Ah, who knows... maybe the next guy will be just as good or maybe better. I'll find out in April at my next appt.

PZ

(This probably classifies as a whine - I'll have some cheese with it and enjoy!)

Z,

I feel for you! So hard to find a good one. My gp left his practice this summer and I still feel out of sorts from it and haven't officially replaced him.

PZ,
I am sure a man with your "silver tougue" will soon sort out the "new guy" and have him testing you for all sorts of other thigs, other than ALS.

All jokes aside i hope you get on well with him/ her.
2 hours or so is not too bad, my nearest one is 4 1/2 hours away.

cheers
Peter

PZ sorry to hear of your loss! It's always hard to find someone that you click with. Hope the new one measures up to your standards! And no whining (with or without cheese) it's not Tuesday yet. Ok, for Peter it is.

Kim ... it's a good sign when a neuro patient outlasts the neuro! I'm sorry you wore the guy out, but maybe the new guy/gal will have the answer. I imagine you'll have him/her wrapped around your finger in no time.

But it's a shame. Something to drink about tomorrow ...

love that idea, Beth.
Here's hoping you find a good one, Zaphoon! Tho they seem few an far between worldwide

Colourful meal - red whine and blue cheese/ Hope you are well bred with it

Kim, does the VA demand that you see a Neurologist? Could you just be followed by a Dr. at the clinic that is close to you and be referred out if you need to see specialists? It is hard when you have extablished a relationship and trust to have it retire. :[

Zaphoon, do you suppose emailing your beloved neuro would be an option? I was able to hurt my husband's back, sending him to my favorite neuro who quit practicing in order to begin a "musculo-skelatal" clinic. That way I didn't have to be present but could still be discussed and receive information. There are ways....! :>O

Just a note to say, I'm being facetious, for those who don't know me! I did hurt Phil's back, however.... just not on purpose. Kim, I pray you'll find a very good neuro. I hope it can happen quickly.
Ann
