Hi, very sad here and trying to help figure out what is the matter with my mom (67 year old). I’ve made a list of the time line. The doctors have no idea. It’s taken 9 months from first symptom to require a walker completely and now a hover round.

March 2023. Hiking. A okay, perfect. No symptoms.
______
Feb 8, 2024 - fell at vet. Dogs pulled her down

Feb 26, 2024 - hiking. Clumsy, weak, fell again

March 4, 2024 - weak tired at airport

April 14, 2024 - right foot red, swollen,

May 27, 2024 - requires help up stairs

June 10th, 2024 - still driving, need help walk up hill

July 15th - took photo of foot swollen and cold. Went to ER thinking blood clot.

August 15th - started using walker

November - both feet affected. Can’t stand. Both feet affected. Using mobility scooter

She has a nerve conduction study next week. Has had CT, MRI lumbar head and etc. no diagnosis. No PT. Finally after 9 months the ER visit got her a referral to a neurologist.

I'm sorry about your mom. She has an EMG + NCS next week, right?

Are both feet still swollen? Are they warm or cold to the touch? Did someone do an ultrasound of one or both feet/lower legs? Were diabetic neuropathy and Raynaud's ruled out? Did she see a podiatrist?

Both feet are very swollen now, putting endema from not being used. She isn’t diabetic. She’s very thin now. Maybe 95 pounds at this point. Lost a lot of weight. She said to note her legs did spasm and twitch a lot early on. Her doctors haven’t been doing much, no specialist yet. Nerve conduction Nov 14. I dunno about the emg
