Hi Folks,

I'm new to the ALS foruim.
I'm trying to find answers, But no miracle....Of course...
It's been 7 months now since my mother had this disease which
none of the neurologists in Seattle can figure out what she really has.
My Mom turned 81 in August.
Her unknown disease began sometime in January 2014 by starting
out loosing her voice.
Neurologist thinks she has 3 possibility diagnosis....
She probably has
--ALS
--PLS
--Parkinson Plus
My sister doesn't understand why an 80 years old woman
has developed ALS, than most people do in the 50's. BUT NOT
in the 80's.
Just recently we got the blood lab results in.
Interesting....
The neurology Dept. drew my Mom's blood in 6 tubes!
4 big tubes, and 2 smaller tubes! For detailed test.
CANCER was ruled out... THAT'S GOOD, NO CANCER..
BUT.....
According to the blood lab results, it indicated that
my Mother's Vitamin B12 is too high.
My sister contacted a nurse for one of the other neurologist,
and that nurse said "People who has ALS have very low B12.
But don't know what disease a person has with a high B12."
Also in the blood lab result....
It indicated the KC is high.
That means Mom's muscle is weak.
So, both the B12 and KC are "Abnormal".
Mom was on medication for her Vitamin B12 up until 2013,
she discontinued, because her B12 was low, at that time.
Mom has been on the breathing machine to expand her lungs.
Mom can drink water and juice with "THICKER" and drink with
a straw.
Mom can hardly walk, NOT only because her left knee, but
the disease she has. And she does fall a few times, but
didn't break her left hip. She also had bump her head, 3 times.
No serious injury, but it could've had been internal brain bleeding.
She looses balance before she falls.
We're all taking care of Mom as much as we can.
BUT there's one thing that's bothering me.....
Whatever happen to that Rabbi in Italy who was CURED
from ALS in 2012 or in 2013?
Brainstorm Cells in Italy did the experimental treatment with
that Rabbi man and he was cured.
I thin it was some kind of stem cell treatment or something.
The treatment they used was "Neru Own" cells.
I read on the internet that there was some success in Italy
for people with ALS or other disease, i wish that we have that
success for my 81 year old Mom.
My 29 years old nephew who's always into science and biology,
says, he believes there is something out there that would cure
Mom's disease, but the U.S. Government wouldn't give it out,
and let other countries has. He thinks our U.S. Government is
controlling populations by letting the people from the 20th Century,
to die without any of the successful treatment. Then they would
for people from this and next generation. That's what he believes.
But about that Rabbi in Italy, was Brainstorm cells given him some kind
of drugs? Or was it a stem cells in his blood?
I don't see any miracle after 7 months gone by, none of the doctors
in Seattle could help Mom with medicines that would match her
blood lab results.
My Mom thinks she was treated like a "Gunny Pig" with the neurologists.
One of my siblings' friend, who's practicing to become a minister,
or a pastor, says "Doctors were told to tell patients that they're
NOT going to get any better!"
My Mom was a nurse, and you know what I'm talking abut?
People who are medical profession, such as Doctors and nurses,
when THEY become a patient, they're the WORST patient, because
they're "stubborn"! NOT listening what they're suppose to do when it
come to better treatment.
So, I am wondering have any of you heard or read IF they're any success
in other countries, that our country's news media doesn't tell?
IF there were success in other countries, what drugs did they use to
cure ALS or other disease.
Neurologists in Seattle couldn't confirm what exactly is the disease
that my Mom has. But only can think of 3 possibility diagnosis...
ALS, PLS, and Parkinson PLUS.
And abnormal b12 and KC.
This is a special MOM, who raised me and protected me, becauuse
i was born with vision and hearing impaired, caused by a birthd defect
when I was a baby.
I've been taking care of my Mom, daily.
And our family are taking care of my Mom.
We do our very best for Mom.
Hope you all understand my situation with my Mom.
Hope all helps for answers.
Thank you.
