Cheryl welcome, but sorry you have to be a member of this devastating disease club. My husband is also a 100% disability ALS VET!
 
The things the VA can do for you are a blessing. I especially found the VA Special Adaptive Housing Grant for 68K to be a big life changer in so many ways.
 
My PALS is a Vietnam vet, two tours, and it is expected that the agent orange is the cause of his ALS. It has been five years since his diagnosis and he is doing well. He is not to the point where he needs a PEG or trache quite yet, and is ambulatory although he staggers. He is courageous... never complains... and tells everyone he has a wonderful life. He deserves a medal of honor for that. My love to all PALS and CALS.
 
My prayers are with you and our husband. Hope he comes home soon, and thank him for serving his country and tell him welcome home. Vietnam vets did not get that when they came home
