My EMG results showed abnormality maybe ALS

Hi i was experiencing twitches for 2 months and some other symptoms then did my EMG and the result is not good now going to Delhi for a diagnosis I'm just depressed now is it over for me?...

There are more tests and clinical exam that go into diagnosis. Plus the evaluation and diagnosis need to be done by an ALS specialist which I gather is why you are going to Delhi? I don’t know anything about this current doctor but 10 percent of initial ALS diagnoses turn out to be wrong. I hope that is true for you. Don’t give up hope for a different answer unless the new doctor says it is ALS. Good luck!

I have yet to see an ALS diagnosis based on twitching alone. The twitching would have to have been in the company of progressive function failure and other clinical exams. If you could highlight what brought you to a neurologist in the first place?

I agree that you really should seek a neuromuscular specialist if whatever has driven you to fear ALS, initially brought you to your first neurologist appointment. Definitely do not give up hope!

Only twitching and jerks sometime nothing else twitches are not regular they are like once sometimes regular fasculations and but very frequent after this report i developed speaking problems i was fine before that and now iam developing more symptoms just because of the report

This poster has apparently chosen not to report back but elsewhere they announced their follow up with the specialist resulted in a clean emg and an opinion there was no serious disease. They further said that anxiety was mentioned and that the initial emg was performed by a technician and signed off by the MD apparently without review
