Moving forward

Thought I'd drop in with a quick update. Grandson is doing awesome. Growing like a weed.

I ordered new appliances early this week, and unbelievably the stove and DW are in stock and the Fridge was in stock in NJ. They predict a first week of Dec delivery.

I started taking down the wallpaper so I can paint. I also need to remove some ceramic backsplash as well.

I also picked out my flooring. Just need to order it.

DS, my nephew, and I worked getting most of the last of the stuff out of the old place. We have a few more big items that have to happen this week.

Today I spent the day in the emergency room getting my eye checked. I developed a floater and then was seeing flashes of light depending on how i moved my eye. I do have a posterior virtuous detachment. Follow up in 4-6 weeks and praying it doesn't detach the retina. Life, never dull.

Hugs all

Sue,

It sounds like you are making some amazing progress! I'm sorry you've having eye issues. I had to look up "posterior vitreous detachment" as I'd never heard of that. Good luck with your eyes... we tend to be pretty attached to them and their continued good health.

I, too, made some color choices for my new overland vehicle (on order, build to begin next March). I had to choose the color of the leather seats in the dining area (I chose Taupe), the countertops in the kitchen and surrounding area (I chose Sea Pearl) and for the kitchen backsplash (I chose Bellagio Elana). Isn't it fun once you've made it through all the choices and you find yourself with decisions having been made and happy with choices?

I wish you continued good fortune as you work towards completion of both move-in and move-out!

My best...

Sue, I have had PVDs in both eyes for years...here's hoping that yours are equally stable.

Glad everything is coming together in the new place.

Nice colors, Jim!

Never dull for sure Sue - what would moving house be without a little PVD thrown in eh?
Truly tho, I hope it settles and you can keep enjoying the new home and grandie.

Thank you everyone.

Jim your colors look perfect. I wish you much happiness as you enjoy your new overlander.

Laurie it is comforting to know someone who has had this issue for a long time.

Tillie you are so right.😜. I think we here were born to face issues on the daily.

Hugs

Hi All,

Tuesday marked 3 years. I was surprisingly calm and had no issues. I guess I got it all out on his BD a month before.

Old house closing was on Wed. That chapter of my life is now closed. I am loving my new home, even all the work that needs done to make it mine. Slowly but surely those things will happen.

Getting ready for Christmas and DD's arrival on the 22nd. It will be so good to see her and her DBF. Lots planned while they are here due to the holiday, but it will be awesome!

Have a wonderful Holiday everyone.

Sue I can hardly believe 3 years, and so much happening with old house closing and holiday fun to start.
Much love to you my friend.

Thank you Tillie. ❤️

How does time move so quickly. My tree is up, but yet to be trimmed. This weekend was tons of work to prepare for DD/DBF's arrival on Wed. I'm mostly ready.

My new appliances arrived last Monday, but the oven does not work due to the clock not working. The clock has to be set for the oven to work. The clock is just blank. They are coming tomorrow to try and figure it out. The induction top works like a dream. I love cooking on it.

The DW is fantastic as is the fridge and microwave. Now to get the oven up and running.

Not much other progress on the house just yet. It will happen after the holidays.

For those who celebrate - Merry Christmas everyone.

happy festive time to you Sue!

Thank you Tillie

I didn't realize it had been so long since a check in. Christmas was wonderful DD/DBF came in for a week. We had 3 days of celebration. Got to be with family we missed the year before due to Covid.

Then as usual Jan brings all the tax stuff I have to do at work, so crazy busy month.

Lots to do around this new home, and hopefully now that taxes are done, I'll have the time and energy to start tackling some of it.

I have been doing some knitting, reading and puzzle making.

We've had lots of snow and very cold weather lately, so staying snug inside of work or home.

Take care everyone,

Good to see you Sue, and especially that you had family for xmas 💚

Thank you Tillie.

Forgot to mention in the last update, that my follow-up for my PVD went well. Don't have to go back to the specialist unless I have further issues.

I really need to schedule all my annuals, that got missed due to Covid.

Life is good.

hugs

Sue that is great news! covid had messed up all the world around in people keeping on top of basic health stuff.
I love seeing you able to say life is good ... but I admit it made me immediately think of an old Eagles song ... "life's been good to me so far" ... am I showing my age?
