So now I'm beginning to aspirate at night and my saliva is eating away at the corners of my mouth to the point I have to keep lip balm to protect. Our TV is mounted on the wall and I have to tilt my head up slightly to watch and I'm aspirating without eating or drinking. I'm aspirating when I eat or drink. Swallow study impression weak glossus muscle with no other abnormalities. I do have slight dysarthia as well as difficulty reading words towards the end of my day. My wife now has to open water bottles for me. My jekyll hyde personality has gotten worse. FTD was listed as possible reasons but.... there is such a high correlation with the behaviorial variant and ALS. I have found some case studies along with caregiver articles that continue to point towards this variant. If it wasn't for that positive babinski with no known reason and an uncle who committed suicide for ALS I would let this go. That and the fact that I have ( retired d/t cognitive decline with inappropriate outburst) been a registred nurse for over 30 years and have cared for more than one ALS patient as well as the family at the bedside. Plus, I am a Gulf War Veteran not to mention that while not all ALS patients are veterans and not all veterans get ALS there is still a connection between the three. Now when I add all that up it continues to come back to the FTD/ALS disease.

As I said before when I closed your previous thread we are not here to argue nor were we able to help you before. I advised you to pursue things with an FTD specialist. I hope you are. You could also doo genetic testing. It wouldn’t diagnose you but might give insight. As there is no question and no doctor’s diagnosis I am closing this thread too as we say we will in the pinned post . Please when you get a diagnosis let us know
I am sorry for your struggles but your answers are not here but with your doctors suggest here Frontotemporal dementia - Doctors and departments - Mayo Clinic
