Hello all,

First of all I would like to apologize to bother you. I'm 29 years old and my twitching history starts in last July (10 months ago), after a period of very anxiety because I was doing some exams to identify a renal cyst was benign or malign. So after I've discovered that is benign I relaxed and then I started to have fasciculations at right calf, some paresthesia in my right forearm and perceived weakness. I went to neurologist and he made lot of tests of strength, balance and reflex. He told me that I have brisk reflex but it is symmetric, so no reason to worry about this. I made MRI from brain and spine. He didn't find any problem. After that I forgot this things and my fasciculations decreased a lot but never stopped.
2 months ago I've passed by a stress period in my job and my fasciculations increased a lot, and now my fasciculations is in all over the body, in two caves never stop, just stop when I contract the muscle and return after I relax. And in other parts of the body stop when I contract and don't start again. The twitches normally starts after a hard contraction (like when I strech) of the muscle and stop after I the same muscle again. 2 weeks ago I had parethesia in my righ forearm again. I'm also facing internal vibration in my left calf. And feeling log fatigued, when I do strength my feel my muscles burning but no clinical weakness I can do everything that I always do.
Last monday I made a EMG and the result was CLEAR. For my surprise even the fasciculations was not detected by neurologist. But I still did not take the result to my neurologist, the exam was made by another neurologist that is neurophysiology specialist. Maybe in two weeks I can go to my neurologist.

I've already read lots of posts in this forum and other forums about ALS and BFS. My opinion is that I have BFS. I would like to hear some more opinions.

Thanks and best regards

A clean EMG says no ALS. Good luck figuring it out but it is not ALS.

It is very possible that you have fascics that are exacerbated by stress. It seems that you recognize this, so, for example, I would consider reducing the stress at your job and elsewhere as much as you can, while working on your ability to deal with it. Sometimes if you find/continue interests/hobbies outside of work and spend more time on those, the stress seems to occur or matter less, and in turn, affect your physical body less. I would also stay off both this and the BFS forums, as you can get better reassurance from friends and family, and spend more time with them. All the best.
