Mold toxicity

Is it possible for mold toxicity of mycotoxins to have similar symptoms to als. In process of rulling out other possibilities and was suggested to get tested for mold toxicity. Previous thread here: Muscle Twitching

No the symptoms are not similar but since you did not tell us your symptoms , what work up you have had and who suggested it we can’t offer any opinion on what you should do

Have had mri of brain and spine all clean. Blood tests clean. Emg with mild abnormality . Clean clinical with exception of right calf atrophy. Symptons. Leg and arm twitching and cramping 24/7. Fatigue very quickly hands cramp and stiffen up. Hard to go up steps but can physically do it. Head aches. Joints ache. Was told boyfriend that mold can cause neurological problems

Mold toxicity testing is generally a scam unless you are in a waterlogged home and have an established respiratory illness. There is an industry around it that basically is not aligned with science, often resulting in expensive remediation that only enriches the contractor. There is no reason/mechanism to believe that your issues are caused by either mold or ALS.

I would work with a good PCP toward getting all you can out of exercise, quality sleep, nutrition and hydration, labs to rule out inflammatory processes, and PT if indicated.
