I have a lot of difficulty at times when eating (getting utensils to my mouth), even using both arms. I saw a device called a Mobile Arm Support which attaches to a wheelchair and provides movement on three axes while supporting the arm. It looked kind of pricey ($310 plus $120 for the mounting bracket, but being able to continue to feed myself would be nice.

Anyone have experience with this sort of item?

That looks cool. I wonder if the Gleason Foundation or your local ALSA chapter would help. Our chapter has a $500 equipment grant.

For a cheaper device, you can somewhat emulate the combination of flexibility and support by tying an exercise band with cushioned handles to your wheelchair and the handle to your hand or wrist.

The desk arm I recommend (ErgoRest) can also be angled as a support.
