I had my feeding tube put in in April of last year. My ALS is bulbar and I no longer can take anything by mouth. Several weeks ago I noticed that there was blood at the opening. It is not a lot, but there appears to be a little blister or skin tab protruding from the opening. I am now finding that I need to change my dressing at least twice a day and sometimes even three times a day. If I don’t use peroxide and a q-tip to clean the blood and the drainage, it almost scabs over and the scab irritates the area. In all this time, I have not had any professional look at this area. Does anyone else have this issue?
