Compassionate Care (which now covers the whole US) has a new doctor on board who told me that the Mini One Balloon feeding tube is hugely better than Mic Key. Opinions?

Also, do I have to get the dangling tube as my first tube, which could be replaced later with button style?

Oddly, when I hit "forums," the list of subforums listed does not include "tips, tricks, and gadgets."

You always have a dangler put in at the time of insertion. Once the stoma has healed and is stable you can have it replaced with a button such as the Mic Key. There are other brands and if your doctor or hospital prefers one just ask why they think that, but it isn't an issue.
We had a Bard and the reasoning was that it would last a lot long as it has a collapsible plate instead of balloon. Since Chris was rapid progression with FTD we figured it would perfect as it would last him through, which it did.

Hope that helps
