Many in the Neurological field have had suspect there may be a link between ALS and Alzheimers.

An astonishing reversal on aducanumab, an antibody therapy which targets a protein called amyloid beta
that builds up in the brain has been revealed.

"It could be a game-changer for the field," said Rebecca Edelmayer, director of scientific engagement at
the Alzheimer's Association. "It could be one of the first disease-modifying therapies approved for
Alzheimer's disease.

The drugmaker, Biogen, said that patients receiving aducanumab experienced "significant benefits on
measures of cognition and function such as memory, orientation and language." They also saw benefits
in activities of daily living, including conducting personal finances, performing household chores and
traveling independently outside the home.

ALS....

**Amyloid precursor protein (APP), the transmembrane precursor of beta-amyloid (A beta), accumulates
in the anterior horn motor neurons of ALS patients with mild lesion

**Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is characterized by a progressive Amyloid precursor protein (APP), the
transmembrane precursor of beta-amyloid (A beta), accumulates in the anterior horn motor neurons of
ALS patients with mild lesions.

Maybe, just maybe a connection may be get ALS researchers to look at this drug Aducanumab if
they aren't already.
