Hi everyone,

I'm curious if anyone has ever used one of those lower back support belts.

On an MRI a few months ago, it showed that all my lower spinal muscles were infiltrated by fat as a result of denervation. So rather than looking like a nicely marbled ribeye steak, mine look like pure white fat.

As a result, when I have to bend to pick something off the floor, I have a hard time getting back up to a straight standing position. Likewise, after I have been sitting for a while, I have trouble straightening my back.

So I'm wondering if one of those belts would work or whether it would make things worse. The use it or lose it concept.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

I have several of those back braces, but feel like they restrict movement. They are basically a lumbar support device. You are probably losing some core strength, as we do. I say try one and see how you like it.
I try to remember to use one when I ride my trike. The brace makes it so I can ride longer and keep my posture so my back is not as sore the following day.
I yout may help....they are fairly inexpensive.:)

Thanks bigmark. I'll give it a go, particularly since you mentioned it helps you not be sore the following day. The lose of strength is causing me quite a bit of discomfort. Thanks again. :0
