I've also had an increase in mouth issues, which it hadn't previously mentioned to docs cause I figured it was a cold or something and was more concerned about the other stuff. Noticed it back in spring getting a choking feeling when speaking too much. It's progressed over the summer to constant mucous buildup, very weak cough, dry foods hard to swallow, air bubbles constantly getting stuck in throat, lisping, occasional slurring, gravely voice, and last week I developed a definite lump in throat which has not gone away. Breathing has also been more labored, sometimes feeling like someone is standing on my chest. My doc said my tonuge looked weird...does have bite marks, large crevasse in the middle and looks like someone cut the tip off. Not sure if that is normal or not.
Neuro also noted muscle loss in back, around right knee and calf, abdomen in addition to the hands and forearm I noticed before. Had constant twitches in all those areas, although now they've subsided. Weird that it's so widespread but nothing has completely stopped working yet, right leg starting to buckle though. Would this be atypical of als...do I need to bring up mouth stuff to doc, don't want to throw too many symptoms out there and come off as a hypo in appts. Thanks for all your help in this.
