Scared, here you are again... 6 posts. Last sentence posted Sunday 8:30 PM

" I just need to let my rational brain prevail and listen to my doctors like you say Tillie."
(Apparently that didn't work.)

One has told you... "so; your fears of ALS are groundless."

The other... "I doubt either of your prior replies thought it sounded like ALS. "

Question #2... "a board certified neurologist." performed the EMG. Best answer.

Yes and yes. Plus, an ALS EMG shows certain abnormalities even in muscles that you think are fine. An EMG will identify significant acute and/or chronic damage to sensory and/or motor neurons, from whatever cause, from muscular dystrophy to a worn-out spine, to a crush injury.

So this is a green flag to consider/discuss PT with your doc, and do an honest assessment of wherever/however you use/rest your problem arm.

Best,
Laurie

Thanks Al, message received :)

Laurie, thank you for your response. I’m currently undergoing intensive PT for the TOS and have lidocaine shots scheduled, which if they provide a lot of relief from the pain/paresthesias, apparently indicate that Botox or surgery might be successful. But I’m hoping PT will do the trick; the TOS specialist highly recommended trying that first before anything invasive, and I agree. I’m also working on my anxiety, which doesn’t help the muscle tension and nerve compression.

In any event, thanks for all your responses and I will do my best to move on from this and focus on treating the problem I do have.

Best wishes all!
