Linda, I don't check this too often now, but only have then and saw your thread, love, you remind me so much of mum. Please consider all you have to do now,so it's not so hard later, do all you can. Enjoy that great big family of yours and create alot of great memories, for you as well as them. I wish you all the best for your LONG future!

hi mom! (this is jen, linda's daughter)... I LOVE YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH! You are still making jokes. U crack me up! xoxo jen

Hi Linda, I looked up your Toby Keith song and you know what? I'm a fan! Ok,maybe not of Country in general but this song had me going. Damn, I love/hate sad songs and this one ranks right up there with Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven" on the hate/love meter. Thanks for the suggestion.

Here is a link if anyone else wants a wet face

I hope that you are doing Ok today, I am happy tonight cause Canada beat Russia in Olympic hockey and we're still in the running for a medal. I hope there is a rematch of Canada/US for the gold.

My OT is coming tomorrow morning to assess me for a power chair and the new fridge is due any day now so I hope that I will get at one useful thing in the next few days (besides a new appreciation for singers in cowboy hats!). :p:p

Wow, listened to that, it was a great tribute! Thanks Barry for putting that up there! Hey Linda, that was WAY cool that your daughter came on here! She is right, YOU ARE LOVED!
Hugs,
Kari

Hi, I am so glad that you liked the song. It brings tears to my eyes everytime i listen to it. It is one that I just want to hear over and over again.. Just sooooooooooooooooooo good. Sad but good...... Heard from my Dr. ass. Looks like the peg will be in March sometime..... So that is great and I can get that over with... On to big and better things? Hope everyone is having a good day today? I am well rested and Rich is home today. Love it when he's home... Hugs, L

Well, March is soon now so the big adventure is soon to start. Thinking of you with love and so glad Rich is there with you

Linda I am glad that you don't have to wait too long for the peg. Have a good day!

Thanks Irismarie and Berry, it is so nice to know that I am not a lone on this journey. It really does help lots...... One thing that is bothering me a bit is that I will have the tube done in Denver and I live 6 hours away. I have a MD here in Pagosa so I would think that any problems I might have he could take care of? Right? L

You will be fine hun. Can you at least stay in Denver until you know that you are stable after getting the peg put in? Get a hotel and live it up in luxury girl!

Hey, I forgot, I can help you with that one if you want!

Linda, it was my experience that the only tricky part of getting the peg is the placement itself and even that is not too bad. I agree with Kari, take a few days before you go home just to make sure you are ok. Do you have family in Denver that you can stay with? Once you get used to having the tube then I know that you will enjoy how easy it is. I'm sure your local MD will be able to look after anything that might come up. I have had absolutely no problems with mine.

I do have family in Denver . I will go there for a day but I will want my own bed. Hope I can leave after one night in the hospital and one night at my sons? Thanks for all the support.. L

I had two nights in hospital after my peg placement but I would have been ok with just one except that the hospital wanted me to wait to meet a dietitian to show me how to use my tube. It all depends on you and how the placement goes but you'll be fine and the weather in March will be better for the trip home so no worries.

Chickadee, I am soul happy that you will soon be a member of the Long Tube Club! Two days in Denver should be just fine. I would have Rich contact your MD and tell him that you will be having a PEG and is he able and willing to do the followup or see you if you have any questions. I know that he will but it will decrease your anxiety :] Nothing to eat or drink after midnight the day of the scheduled placement. Take a list of your meds, allergies, copy of medical records, Dr. names with you-will definately speed up the checking in process. You will want LOOSE fitting clothes to wear home like a sweat suit. Make sure that they give you syringes for flushing and what you will need for the feeds plus a script for future use. Have Rich pick up some 2x2 guaze pads for cleaning and for around the site if you have drainage. Have them tell you what the number is on the tube so you can have Rich look and make sure it is correct-Web's is at 6. This is the lines with numbers on the tube that sticks out from your tummy. You will fly through it. When it is scheduled? Hugs, Kay Marie
