Hi. I'm 24, new on this forum and just can't find any thread about juvenile ALS and I don;t know how to create a new one thread.
I have widespread fasciculations for 13 month now and right shoulder joint weakness that started approx a year ago as well.
I'm just curious if it was ALS, the symptoms would have progressed even more already? I don't have any good specialists in my city and EMG is unavailble now due to the pandemic.

almost certainly. JALS is very rare and the most common cause is a mutation called FUS which is usually extremely aggressive. Earlier this year a young acquaintance of mine died 8 months from onset. This is not unusual with this form

shoulder onset is also exceedingly rare. Most likely you have a primary shoulder issue coupled with benign fasciculations. Work with your doctor

Ask about physiotherapy -- shoulder problems can get worse if not treated.

I wouldn't worry about ALS.
