Hey, I’m female 37 around a month ago I started having some speech problems specifically with the R and L letters. I’m slurring it and it’s getting worse. My tongue feels weird and heavy.
I feel my tongue is getting stuck and not pronouncing right ( the feeling you get after the dentist) and burning tingling sensation in my tongue and pulsing sensation in my lips.
It’s been three weeks and it happens everyday. I hate to talk now because it’s a reminder of what it could be.
I’m afraid it’s bulbar onset? did anyone bulbar onset started like this? Please share your experience. I do have a doctor appointment coming up soon but I’m so scared.
I’m pretty sure it’s not b12 deficiency because I had a blood work 3 months ago and it was normal.
Anything else can cause this problem? Please let me know what you think. I have been suffering and scared a lot and can’t calm myself

Thank you!

Hundreds of things can cause this problem, if it really is one.
The most common explanations: GERD, allergies, dry mouth, a salivary gland stone, an early growth.
Work through the problems with your doctor, including a referral to an ENT if recommended, but I'm not seeing ALS in this.
