Hello. Began twitching 6-7 days ago. Started in right leg, spread everywhere. Legs have pain and weakness. Went to ER and had brain and upper spine mri...normal. Also, bloodwork on muscles cpk came back normal. Today had a nerve conduction and lower emg done by a pain management specialist, not neuro..not sure if it matters. Came back normal. Still twitching. Possibility of even my tongue.nervous wreck of if this is ALS. Able to type and squeeze with a decent grip. Thank you for listening.

Juliep, basically an EMG is an EMG. It's your choice to follow up with an ALS specialist. But do read
"Read Before Posting" With all the tests you've had coming back normal you can put ALS pretty much
off your worry.

Try hard not to spiral into Health Anxiety doing research... Dr. Google, the Internet and old threads here.
Work with your doctors.

Hey Julie, the great news is that twitching alone means nothing.
You could look at stress, hydration, caffeine intake, sleep, exercise, relaxation, nutrition and work habits. These are far more likely to be linked to twitching, especially after just a week than a rare terminal disease.
All the best, I would go back to your GP and start asking what they think and work on the most obvious causes first.

Julie, just some more information to maybe ease your concerns...

A pain management specialist is a Physiatrist.

Physiatrists are medical doctors who have gone through medical school and have completed
4 year internship in the specialty field of physical medicine and rehabilitation.

If the pain management specialist saw anything neurologically concerning he/she
would have made a further referral.

Like posted above.... go back to your GP. (Most likely Dr. Google directed you here today.) :)

Thank you for your prompt response.
