introducing myself - newly diagnosed

Hi all - I'm Karen, and I've been looking through the forum since my diagnosis last month and I want to thank everyone who participates and offers such helpful information. I have lower limb symptoms with gradual onset for about a year and a half. I'm now using a mobility scooter and not really walking. Just went on leave from my position - ironically, I'm a speech language pathologist with expertise in motor disorders. So the diagnosis was not at all a surprise. Lately just been spending some time trying to reflect on my new reality and also planning ahead for the future. I'm fortunate to have gotten into an ALS Clinic in Portland.
