Good mornng to you,

I too am seeking answers. My daughter is your age and she is experiecing the same symptoms you have (as well as muscle weakness and change in muscle appearance).

From reading what other persons have written, it appears to be a good thing about your age. Apparently, a young age such as yours along with other factors is positive.

My daughter is frightened and losing hope. If this is happening to you....I want you to know that there are people out there that care and are searching for answers too.

I will tell you what I tell her...I don't know the answers but I am not going to give up trying to find them. Even though you may have to kiss a LOT of frogs (the WRONG DOCTORS) there is a prince or princess out there (not necessarily a miracle worker, BUT A GOOD KNOWLEDGEABLE DOCTOR JUST THE SAME!)

I will not tell you not to worry (how can you not worry when your body has become a stranger to you?) But I will ask that you worry a little less. One step at a time....one step at a time......one step at a time.

Just don't get discouraged! You are not alone.

Are you on any medications? ALS/MND's are extremely rare for someone your age, but not impossible.

A few days ago I was told by one of the top world ALS specialist, that it not so unusual for fasciculations to precede weakness BUT usually 2-3 months are enough to see if its ALS or not. He said he has never seen a patient who developed ALS after 6 months of twitching..but he has seen patients whose fasciculations (with clean EMG!) do turn to ALS in month or two. He also mentioned that fasciculations that appear after the age of 40 are much more suspicious than their appearance in younger age.
So the longer you twitch without weakness, the better. But I dont believe anymore the BFS crap rule "no weakness=no ALS". It is definitely valid, but not immediately.

We need Dr. House

Sounds like we all need Dr. House, except maybe with a better attitude. But, then he would not be Dr. House, would he?.
For those who have never seen the TV program it is about a Doctor that solves almost impossible diagnosis on patients, but is as grumpy as they come, plus is addicted to pain pills. What a mixed up character.
I think I could look past the grumpy part if they knew what they were doing. I pray you all have a diagnosed soon, and a good one at that.
