I just want to say thank y’all for taking the time out of your day y’all are truly warriors.
I have had twitches as long as I can remember but back in 2018 I googled and of course landed me in the rabbit hole. In august 2019 I got an emg from a neuromuscular specialist and everything was clean. She said she didn’t need me for a follow up.
recently now I’ve been falling down the rabbit hole again due to second guessing cause i see that als progresses differently with people. Although I don’t have any weakness, I’m seeing dents in my hands and twitches in my hands. I have read the sticky already but for some reason I’m nervous that it’s something. My emg was done on my left side and the thing that worries me also is that when I went to the chiropractor my right dominant hand had a weaker grip than my left hand. I do have scoliosis that I never went back to fix and that was all the way back in 2018. I’m sure things would of progressed by now or clear cut weakness. I’m still able to do everything I was 2 years ago. I know this is not an health anxiety place but I am worried.

I just want to say the chiropractor said that my right hand was weaker than my left back in 2018. When I got my first emg I was able to put this behind me but I’m just second guessing everything

Please go see a doctor you don't have ALS, but you can be helped.

Most people have a weaker hand and it doesn't have to be the non-dominant one. We use each for different activities. There is no need to second-guess, as I gather you know. If you want affirmation that there's nothing to worry about, see a primary care doc (which a chiro is not) and s/he can tell you that your strength in both hands is within normal limits, and track it for you. If that is not enough, consider at least online counseling for health anxiety, very common in these times.

Best,
Laurie

Thank you. I didn’t think I would be second guessing my emg and it breaks my heart that I’m on these forums worrying about something that is nothing. I appreciate your response and will run with this.

For everybody to consider.... right out of Wikipedia. For what it's worth...

Systematic reviews of controlled clinical studies of treatments used by chiropractors
have not found evidence that chiropractic manipulation is effective, with the possible
exception of treatment for back pain.[7] A critical evaluation found that collectively,
spinal manipulation was ineffective at treating any condition.
