When entering Hospice care, does anyone know if you can continue taking your medication such as Riluzole and Radicava ORS?

When you enter hospice 1 you can’t be trying to be cured of your qualifying diagnosis so it would be up to hospice if they viewed them so or as comfort 2 hospice pays for the meds for your qualifying diagnosis ( not other conditions ex hypertension or diabetes etc). I think you are unlikely to find one that covers radicava. They get a set amount monthly for caring for you. Riluzole is iffy too.

You should interview hospice and discuss meds, feeding tube and ventilation policies as well as general philosophy Most often you want a non profit hospice and you may get different answers from different companies

Thank you for the reply Nikki. Progression has really ramped up over the past couple of months making me consider Hospice services. My PCP gave the referral and we will have someone come out on Monday to answer all of our questions.

The Hospice that we would be involved with is a non-profit.

Sorry to hear of your progression. I hope you can find a hospice that gives you comfort
